New Phone

Hi All, been meaning to join this forum for ages. Here's a quick sketch. It's a radio one.

TED: Hey guys, check out my new mobile. It’s got a 5 megapixel camera, a built-in Sky Plus box and an attachment for getting stones out of horses’ hooves.

NED: Nice but wait until you see my new mobile. It’s got a 10 gigabyte mp3 player, works the central locking on my car and lets me play Tetris in full iMax 3-d.

ROD: Not bad! But my new phone does this….

FX: SOUND OF LIGHTSABER BEING TURNED ON AND WAVED AROUND

TED & NED: Whoah!

Not bad at all, though I'd have him dismember his chums and steal their phones.

S'good. I liked the horses hooves bit. Could do with being longer imo though.

actually, i didnt like the surreal nature of the attachments in the first half. The light sabre needs to clash with the regular extras. As it is a sky plus box on your phone is almost cooler than a Jedi sword!

If I can offer tip, how about fitting in the Nathan Barley line,

Wouldn't that be stealing?!

Oh and the sketch. I agree with M Lewis I think. The first two phones should be overloaded with gadgets, but not too crazy. I also think the ending falls a little flat. Needs something extra. It's got potential though.

Good, but it should build more i think. Start off with regular additions to the phone, then add ever more bizarre things with each new set of claims; including the horse shoe attatchment.

I think that this is a great ending, although would it work with a radio sketch?

Too right it would, especially of they played Darth Maul's theme.

But we are going off topic which is naughty, all in all a top skit.

And SKybox on phones, I used to have a Lobster which picked up digital Tv, which was ace. Except Alan Sugar looks really scary when he's only 3 inches wide.

I think it's amazingly coincidental that the first Scallywaga show should produce a sketch so similar to this!

not so remarkable - i've seen loads of sketches with people competing over their increasingly outlandish phone gadgets.

this one's got a good twist though - think it'd work better if all the things mentioned were genuine (though still increasingly outlandish) phone gadgets up until the vwoom!
