To be honest, I don't think a sitcom mocking religion would go down badly at all. Might be just what channel 4 are looking for.

The one I'm working on mocks religion.
Not as blatantly as yours seems to, but yours definitely sounds like something I'd watch.
The problem with mocking religion in the UK is that it isnt very powerfull.... in fact, its a bit of joke already. Different in the US were the christian right are a real force but over here you are just laughing at something poeple already regard as a bit silly anyway.
Aren't about 80% of the UK population non religious?
Something like that anyway.
and the 20% watch songs of praise and bake cakes...in the US they watch the 700 club and live in the whitehouse. all very different.
