I will stick with it. Thanks.
The Wire Page 4
I'm starting to get into it properly (am about 7 or 8 episodes in). It does get better.

Last couple of episodes were awesome! I can't wait for Season 2 to start.
Loved the scene that was fairly early on in S1 where MCnulty and his Buddy were quietly re-examing the crime scene of the girl who got shot. Brilliant.
F**k
So glad so many folk are enjoying the show. I agree with the poster earlier who made the comment that the incredible Hyperbole can actually be a problem as of course it's elevated so hghly and also annoys those shallow people who can't stand the fact they might like something that others have seen before. For me every iota of Hype was true though, I was so into this when it was on that I was downloading it the day after airing in the U.S and felt a void when it finished. I agree that the first two or three episodes seem unremarkable but then something clicks. The sometimes indecipherable dialogue seems no longer a problem, the characters start grabbing you and you're away. I shed a non manly tear when it was over. It's of no consequence as they are all superb but my enjoyment of the series went like this: 4,1,2,3,5. Hope everyone continues to love this masterpiece.

Probably 3,4,1,2,5 for me. But I've recently rewatched Season 2 and I'd forgotten how good it was.
The theme music's great as well.
Hot off the press.... Good Inverview with David Simon.
Clarke Peters aka Lester Freamon on The One Show in a minute!
Woah! Just finished watching the third series. That really was excellent. The first two are very good, it must be said, but series 3 blew it out of the water, I thought.
(That said, obviously, you couldn't have had series 3 without the previous two, but it's still awesome!)
On to 4...

I do like Idris Elba, a.k.a Stringer Bell.
Very much so. He's awesome!

And here's McNulty, reading Jane Austen in order to advertise coffee:

Oh, McNulty, what have they done to you. Next thing you know you'll be playing a scientist with a dodgy accent who discovers penicilin...
I must admit, I think people on here, and Charlie Brooker, are overrating the show. It's very good, yes, but it's by no means the best TV Drama I've seen - the winner of that title would have to be Oz. Oh, and I'd have to put The Sopranos above it as well.
