David Bowie Fans Page 7

I can't really say I know either of those two even though I've got that compilation.

They're likening it to Station to station which is one of my fave Bowie albums. Intrigued by what I've read about the band too.

The only thing is do I get it now or wait for the inevitable special edition?

I've now listened to the album twice in a row. It's great. Really great.

If you're a genuine Bowie fan, there's absolutely no reason not to get it.

I'm tempted to buy the vinyl version.

RIP. He died today.

No. No no no no no no no.

Bugger! A true star!

Speechless!

The one for me, ironically..........has everything.

Have heard great things about the new album, will certainly be getting it, just a shame it's under these circumstances.

Amen.

A bit of a shock to us but he obviously was not well for quite some time.

I think that probably he was just behind the Beatles in being the most influential, creative and best musician of the late 20th century.

Well not much chance of this now. The first pressing that is.

The Beeb did him proud today - first 15 minutes of the lunchtime news, hastily put together prog. at 7.30 this evening presented by Jeremy Vine and a lot of Newsnight devoted to him, BUT I can see what is going to happen with Newswatch at the weekend when the usual miserable gits will be complaining about the amount of time devoted to him on the news "when there is so much else happening around the world" that is, according to them, far more important.

I didn't watch the 30 minute special tonight although it got slagged off as being too messy. It wasn't available on iPlayer. Watching the Channel 4 tribute now.

Wouldn't say it was messy, but clearly put together quickly as they wouldn't have had their usual obit. prog. ready for some of the more likely candidates (Brucie for one) who are likely to pop their clogs soon.

It was OK.

Sad news, will watch the totp special or whatever they put out in tribute. Only ever owned one Bowie album, liked him without being a big fan, some of his 80s stuff I hated tbh. Star man's a belter, MWSTW, 5 years, Sound and Vision are my faves. A lot of album tracks I still haven't heard. May seek them out now.
