David Bowie Fans Page 6

A pitiful eight: Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory,
Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Heroes, Heathen.

Concerts - 1 - Glastonbury 2000

Ideally I'd add Young Americans, Station To Station, Low, Scary Monsters,
Let's Dance, Tonight, The Falcon and the Snowman and The Next Day.

But, hey, I'm with Spotify too.

I have a few old singles to in pretty good condition, like "The Jean Genie", "Sorrow" (B-side is "Amsterdam") and "Fame", and some cassettes, plus a few books.

Wow. Reading these posts, I almost feel like I'm not a true fan. I like David Bowie as an individual and he has made so many fantastic records. But my enjoyment of his music has never been wholly in sync with that of others. My favourite album - and one that would easily be in my Top 20 - is, erm, "Space Oddity".

That run between Hunky Dory and Low (never been a massive fan of "Heroes") is just about as good as any artist's in history, in my opinion.

My faves would be Hunky Dory, Low and Scary Monsters.

Same here. I even prefer Lodger out of the Berlin phase. Although Blackout is a really cool song.

Scary Monsters

'Teenage Wildlife' has become my favourite Bowie song. I don't know how he sings it. If he ever toured again, and he sang that, and I was there to see it, I'd probably pass out.

Hunky Dory is my favourite Bowie album. Although Low is certainly up there as well.

I've just seen this while looking up my Bowie albums.

Does anyone own it?

Unfortunately no. Is it good?
Strange cover photo...he does look a bit ike Laurie Anderson in it.

Anyway still not heard the new song. The album seems to be getting consistently 4 stars but is that just because they want to like it?

I've seen the new album in a record store today. The single from the last best of comp and it's b-side (A: Sue/B: 'Tis A Pity She Was A Whore) are on it too...so not a awful lot of new music for your money.

I think they've been re-recorded (if that matters at all to you).

Ah, ok...I'd have bought the album anyway.
That makes me very curious, Sue, the version I know, is near perfect to me.

I've literally just bought it on mp3. Won't get a chance to listen tonight though.

Out of Sue... and ...Whore I actually preferred the latter, but that may well change!
