I am very saddened by this news, and I'm going to hold a minutes silence in my bedroom, before the next football game.
I grew up watching this guy too, although it was Rolf Harris and Tony Hart who taught me how to draw. Not Speight.
RIP
Ditto EMS but tips are always good to pick up.
Quote: Aaron @ April 13 2008, 8:32 PM BSTYeah, like I said in 'General, General Thread', I never liked him much. And of course there's the drugs thing. But it's still pretty sad really. And the drugs didn't actually kill HIM. Not directly. Broken heart 'n' that.
Yeah, but he obviously blamed himself for his missus' death.
He 'introduced' her to drugs it appears. Introduced is an ace phrase.
"Natasha, drugs. Drugs, Natasha".
"Hello!"
Quote: catskillz @ April 13 2008, 8:28 PM BSTImagine a 90-year-old version of the cravat-wearing Freddy, from Scooby-Doo, and you'll come pretty close to conjuring up an image of Tony Hart.
(Hart is a leg-end.)

Hmmm, coincidence? I think not.
Just near enough said that in my comment which was before yours
But hey, this isn't the time or the place to be discussing this . . .
STOP STEALING MY JOKES!!!!!
Apparently after his girlfriend died, he used to spend every night at her mum's house, and she could never sleep because he'd keep her awake crying all night.
Deee-pressing.

Quote: sootyj @ April 13 2008, 8:30 PM BSTa rare analogue to the the 1000s of drinkers who choke on their own vomit, or die of alcohol poisoning each year.
Good f**king riddance.
Tony Hart was a major in the Gurkhas, he and his knife weilding warriors fought in the jungles of Malaya. He was a brave leader, and a ruthless takers of other people lives. Can you imagine him as a camp, cravatte wearing, upper class Rambo, making an amateurish gallery out of the remains of his victims.

You have to feel for him in that respect I guess. It'd bad enough in, well, 'normal' circumstances, let alone ones which he felt he was to blame.

Well I go through there twice a day Monday to Friday on my way to and from work, so not a huge coincidence that I was there.

Well, I saw a pigeon with a gammy foot there too, so don't make me pin that on you.
Don't make me!!
...Have you ever seen a small bear with a suitcase?
Quote: zooo @ April 13 2008, 8:40 PM BST...Have you ever seen a small bear with a suitcase?
Yes.
There's a big stall that sells Paddington stuff.
So in answer to your question.
Yes.
OR
Yes, but Aaron killed him.
OR
No, I once saw a big bear with a small suitcase, but that's no what you asked so no.
