It took me two months to pluck up the courage to ask my ex- out on a date. Two months of painful, love-sick terror on a daily basis. :(

My ex and I were friends for quite a while before we finally both got the courage to give things a try, and yes it was agonizing. He was 4 years younger than me and I had a 3 year old son. We were both terrified.

Now I look on the whole dating situation with the same terrified eyes because I'm older, with kids, and the baggage of a horrible relationship. But hey, I'll either get over that or just be one of those crazy clingy "granola" moms that I absolutely hate. :)

Actually no. Within three months of our first date she was pregnant with twins.

I see you made up for lost time.

I would have expected a medical doctor to have been familiar with the science behind conception and the methods of avoiding it. ;)

Fair comment. We did take the precaution of locking the door when we did it on the pool table in the Doctors' Mess (insert additional gag here). Errr

Too bad you weren't bank tellers, then you could have locked yourselves in the vault and had safe sex.

Boom-tish!

TMI Tim. "Doctors' mess"? I dread to think what that is....

Well I did warn you...

Although my daughter was conceived in a hospital too...

Although my daughter was conceived in a hospital too...

The time I just mentioned was definitely not the occasion they were conceived. As pool players pointed out to their disgust, the evidence to support this claim was left on the baize. In fact, they circled the evidence with chalk and abandoned the ongoing pool tournament until I had cleaned the table. Errr

Although my daughter was conceived in a hospital too...

I'm fairly certain that my daughter was conceived in the back seat of my car at Treasure Island beach while my future wife was on a 2-hour furlough near the end of a 6-week hospitalization.

Pool tables are awkward. Especially when you get your foot caught in a pocket.

Other awkward places included sand dunes, phone booths, up trees, inside single sleeping bags, top bunks, sheds, baths, rocking chairs, and big freezers.

So I've heard.

You're lucky if it's only your foot...

Yes, as is your parents' bed...

You're lucky if it's only your foot...

It's one way to pot a ball.

Also to add to the list backs of cars, cow fields, and tree houses.

So I've heard.
