You Chicken McNogget.

Beds were always luxury items - historically not just couples, but, in poorer households, whole families would share. It was not uncommon to share with strangers when booking into an inn.

Unlike me, my chickens do sleep in the same bed. Also unlike me, they lay their eggs and poo in there, while I don't lay eggs.

I didn't have a bedroom as a kid. I didn't even have my own bed. I slept on the sofa until we moved from London.

Awwwww... Teary

Do you think that experience has made you highly value your sleep/bed as a grown-up?

I find I have trouble sleeping without something to lean up against like a wall or lots of stuffed animals. I am also scared of the dark. :(

I certainly value a lot of little things others take for granted!

Me too. I actually fell asleep in my own bed for the first time in about a month and it took me forever, as I have become used to the couch. Console

Or without your weird space type matress thingy...

Snap! How weird. But I shared the settee (not a sofa bed) with my mum and sister. The boys and my dad got the bed. Rolling eyes My sister's convinced she has a curved spine as a result.

I then shared a bed with my sister until she left home (waking me at 6am to smoke Rothmans and play Alice Cooper), so I've only ever had a bed of my own for about three years in my whole life.

Weirdly I now have to have a gi-normous king size plus bed. I couldn't stand the stuffed toys thing, they make me squeamish.

Yep, I know what you mean about the not taking things for granted. I'm the easiest person in the world to buy presents for because I'm grateful for anything, but it's also made me a hoarder and can't get rid of things.

Maybe, but I didn't think that what you said was anything other than entirely reasonable. In my experience, some women do not conform to a stereotype of wanting 6 hours of cuddling, and so it's a waste of everyone's time to do that.

Well it's not a waste of MY time, if that's what I want to do, is it?
I'm not naive, and I know that both men and women want sex, which is why I said my views would be 'sickening and boring to most of humanity'. Jeebus, why do some people seem incapable of entertaining the possibility that there just might be others out there who really DON'T think in the same way they do?
I haven't taken my view because I think it's what women want - on the conntrary I believe most would find it boring, and I also firmly believe that deep down most women, despite what they say, despite themselves even, secretly want something of a caveman type bloke (this in itself is probably a wee bit controversial, but I think it's true: just look at all the women professing their love for the Gene Hunt character).

That's very true Roo. My closest male friends always seem to go after horrible women that treat them like shit and they just keep hanging on, hoping it will get better. :(

And yes, we do like nice guys. I just haven't had much luck picking them as of late.

Exactly!! :D *high fives Danny*

At least she didn't try to deny it though!
Not that that's at all what I think Ruby's doing, but I think a lot do (just my opinion).
