Corner Gas is Closing its doors.

It was just announced this morning that one of Canada's most successful comedies Corner Gas has decided to end its show in its prime. Next year's season will be its last bringing it to a 7 year stint. The TV station CTV who produces the show said they knew Butt was thinking of calling it quits but was hoping they could get at least a 3 more seasons out of the popular sitcom.

During the interview Bret Butt said there were a few tears on set to the surprising news but followed that "you want to leave the party when people are sad to see you leave, not when people are glad to see you finally leave".

The only good news out of this is that when asked about a possible Corner Gas movie Butt said "actually yes we have been talking seriously about that".

I'm going to miss the show. Even those who didn't like the show had to admit Corner Gas rejuvenated the Canadian Sitcom, and Canadian programing in general.

I 'acquired' episode one - still haven't got around to watching it though. Will try at some point this weekend.

Saw Season 1 of this, its a very good show, will have to get around to checking the other seasons out some time.

The show is consistently funny I think you will like the other seasons.

Corner Gas is now being screened in Australia. In the tradition of The Beachcombers (the original Beachcombers) and the various incarnations of Degrassi Street it's good stuff.

I've caught this here and there over the years, I really liked it. makes me sad.

There is some good news the creators are still all working together to create two new shows and both look pretty funny.
Now if I could only get Aaron to watch the free copy I sent him a year ago.

Quite a good show. Thoroughly entertaining even if it doesn't always make me laugh.

The father character is brilliant however. The one where he steals the neighbour's lawn ornaments is my favourite.
