Going to see stand-up Page 7

I have to agree that I was quite disturbed by some early Eddie murphy stand-uo material - homophobic jokes based on typically ignorant stereotyping.

Overall though I like the man: a true entertainer and that's where the crux of the matter lies. Comedy is an entertainment business and i found most of those films very entertaining. People tend to forget that basic aim all too often - too interested in writing oh so very clever stuff and missing the object of the game.

I also like Lee Evans a lot: Yeah no brilliantly strong material but an absolutely incomparable 'entertainer' - it's his job y'know. As Perry said, he uses his expressions and body to great effect - not some disappearing up it's own fundament very very clever line that most people will have to go and get a dictionary to be be able to understand. He is what he is and he does it superbly.

entertainment entertainment entertainment - it's what the thread's about - want something heavier - better suited to books.

Ta

I wouldn't put it past him.

Anyhoooo... I went and Lee Mack was there. Was awesome...and I had a nice chat with him afterwards.

Was a strange crowd though - I'm not particularly mensa brain levels but these guys were really thick as shit and didn't get half the jokes.

Oooh and all the stand ups were HOT!!!!!

lol! did you do girly "I fancy you" laughs?

Ummm... not that I remember, although I did ask him to come home with me during his act... but then he took the piss out of me cause I was 22 years old and asked me if I was looking forward to Christmas.

Haha!

I don't get it.

But anyway.

zooo just did a little exploding of jealousy.

As in, I'm young!!

Did he feel your booby?

No! You plonker Aaron.

Just back from seeing Jerry Sadowitz. I thought he was ok but my granny loved him what with the language and material he used.

Where was that?
