Distinctly mediocre, from what I remember.

It's not often, Aaron, but sometimes I want to kick your head into a wheat thresher.

:(
Can't you just smack his bum.
That would prevent death, but still make you feel better.

(I googled wheat thresher!)

Any Rutles fans out there? That's a superb spoof of the Beatles, which I find myself watching on a regular basis.

Yeah, it's great. I used to watch it quite a bit as well. Have you seen the sequel? Apparently it's terrible.

Well done, catskillz. Yes, I've seen the sequel. It's not great, but it isn't really as bad as some make out. Some of the guest interviewees are unknown to British viewers, and some of the jokes are alternatives to the jokes in the original, rather than new jokes. There's a sort of alternative take on some of the original, such as the Arthur Sultan period, where, here the lads get into curry rather than tea.

Billy Connolly is quite funny in it, he's asked if the Rutles changed the world and he replies "they never changed their SOCKS!"

I don't think it's out in the UK yet, but I dare say you could get a cheapo copy of this on the net.

Although I'm not how Princess Bride slipped into a thread about spoof movies I would have to agree that it was a very good movie. One day I would like to read the book and its sequel. I have it sitting on the bookshelf.

The idea of the thread wasn't really to find actual "spoofs" but movies that use that kind of humour. I just don't know what the actual definition is beyond 'comedy'.

You wouldn't notice much difference.

10th Kingdom. Kids liked it. I liked it for perhaps different reasons

If that's the case then I submit History of the World Part 1. I love that movie!
Torquemada: do not beg him for mercy, Torquemada: do not ask him for forgiveness. Let's face it you can't Torquemada anything!

And Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy

Reviving an old thread again, I can't seem to help myself.

For what it's worth I seriously recommend "Walk Hard, the Dewey Cox Story". Nobody seems to have heard of it and I'm making it my personal mission to make everyone I know watch it. Brilliantly funny and ought to be a classic.

Airplane!

Never bettered

Brilliant

Surely you can't be serious?
