Hugh

That Hugh is a popular bloke isnt he?

Whitney Houston says she will always love him.

The real thing can't get by without him

Billy Ocean says love realy hurts without him

and Alanis Morisette thinks he aught to know.

I dont know what he did to upset Ugly Kid Joe though...

:$

Very solid idea, and good puns, but would benefit from a better frame.

Something like an E special?

I enjoyed that Andrew. You could add heaps more too.

Sorry to be the voice of dissent, but I think it's weak. The joke is that some lines in songs sound a bit like the singer is saying something else, but I've seen that done many-a-time.

Peter Kay did it back in the mid 90s as part of his stand up (he used a tape recorder to play little snippets). Even Chris Evans did it on his radio show - for example an old BabyFace song where it sounds like he sings 'every time I see your face I piss myself...'

I couldn't see this getting anything more than a groan in a stand-up routine. Also, in at least two of the songs, the singer sings 'you' fine, without a hint of it sounding like Hugh.
