Cheating Sketch

Int. Living Room

A tearful woman is sat on the sofa. A man comes and sits down. He goes to put his arm round the woman, but she pushes it away.

Woman: Don't. Just... don't.

Man: You're overreacting

Woman: You cheated with my mother!

Man: It was just a bit of fun.

Woman: You do realise it's the anniversary of my dad's death, don't you?

Man: That's why I did it - to cheer her up.

Woman: I want a divorce.

Man: Oh come on.

Woman: I'm serious.

Man: Can't we just start again?

Woman: Ok, but this time I'M shuffling the cards.

ENDS

Nice one.

Something like this, Griff?

Int. Living Room.

A man and two women - one old, one young - are playing cards at a table.

Woman 1: I'm watching you darling. And you mother.

Man: We're not going to cheat.

Woman 1: You've done it before, so keep your hands where I can see 'em.

Woman 2: I've told you, dear. That was a one off shag.

ENDS

You've not only redeemed yourself of that last stinker, you've given me an idea for a new sketch. Have yourself a cookie.

Which one did you prefer, D-Man? The first or second one?

Here's the thing - I kind of skim read it and understood the ending in a completely different way than intended. I'll PM you the version that I got.

Now I see it's a play on the word cheating. If that's the case I think Griff's right, the first version is bass ackwards. The second version serves the joke better but I don't know, it doesn't feel much like a sketch anymore.

I prefer the first one.

I prefer the first, too

Witness the seething miasma of Winterlight's soul!

V. Good again Winty.
