Rude Ladies

This is one of a number of sketches I have done on 'RUDE POSH LADIES'
any advice welcome...

THE TWO LADIES ARE ON AN ESCULATOR IN A SMART DEPARTMENT STORE, CHATTING AND LAUGHING LOUDLY.

ANITA:I know what I wanted to ask you, is your daughter Lydia still seeing that MPs son, what’s his name?

TRUDY: I don’t know, I can’t bring myself to speak with him. He’s so down to earth, so positively normal. God only knows what she sees in him.

ANITA:He’s certainly normal looking, I think that’s a ‘common’ trait in the working classes, if you forgive the pun.

TRUDY:(LOOKS UP AND DOWN AT ANITA). Yes, you’re quite right.

ANITA:Still he must have some redeeming features, apparently he’s been seen with numerous society girls over the last six months.

TRUDY:Oh yes, apparently he’s got a cock like a policeman’s truncheon.

ANITA:Really, gosh what’s his number?

This is rather close to a series of sketchs featured on the now-defunct 'Bruiser' show (which showcased the talents of Martin Freeman, David Mitchell, Robert Webb, Olivia Coleman and that bloke who played the IT geek in 'The Office' - Gervais also wrote for the show). The premise was two women talking in a pub, and one would always try to pre-empt what she thought her friend was going to say at the end of a sentence. The last sentence always ended with this woman saying something absolutely filthy and winding up very embarrassed.

I think the sketch still works (though it needs tightening a tad), and perhaps the penultimate line should be: 'Well he would - he's hung like a horse on Viagra.' The horse reference brings the gag back into the world in which these women would circulate.

This does seem very familiar but I can't recall the show.

I don't think it's particularly strong, and neither is it terribly clever - but it might work when performed. Seems more like incidental writing in a longer piece. Cue lift doors opening on the cock line, etc.
