Viking Quickie

Ext. Brow of hill

Viking 1 is laying down and peering ahead. Viking 2 ‘commando crawls’ into shot and lays next to Viking 1.

Viking 1: How many of their men guard the castle?

Viking 2: 10.

Viking 1: (SHAKES HEAD) This is going to be harder than we thought.

The camera pans down the hill to reveal a bouncy castle full of children laughing and bouncing.

ENDS

Nice quickie. I'd leave the word 'siege' out of it, but otherwise I don't have anything to complain about.

Good point. It's obviously a siege. I'll kill it. And then some cats.

Put on yer mittens and let's drown some kittens!

Very nice.

Just a thought - I think you should end this with the vikings storming down the hill waving axes.

Well that was the original idea I came up with.

Maybe have a small child look up at the advancing vikings and mutter "Oh shit".

-----------------------------------------------

Here's a rewrite. The "Oh shit" bit is a bit fiddly to put in and detracts from the reveal:

CUT TO: Ext. Middle of hill

The two Vikings are charging down the hill, screaming and waving axes. The camera pans ahead to reveal a bouncy castle full of jovial children.

ENDS

Like this just as it is. Reminds me of my skit with two viking kings who've battled until both their armies lay slain and there's just the two of them, slugging it out. Eventually, they get exhausted ... and decide to settle who wins with a game of Top Trumps.
