Saturday 15th March, Stockport Plaza.
I was fortunate enough to see the god of stand up, Ken Dodd. On at 7.30, finished at 12.40. A masterclass in how stand up should be performed.

But how long was the weird interlude(s) with the banjo player and whatnot?
Banjo player never surfaced. We had the Diddy men, Dickie Mint, and a woman singing songs which I though was a signal for the half time bar. Other than that, a 80 year old bloke, last of the Vaudiville comedians, an absolute legend. Proud to say I have seen him live.
Sounds like a good night then. I'm hoping I'll be able to see him again at some point. Very, very funny man.
You have to see him Aaron. As bad as this sounds, he's 81 this year, please go and see him before it's too late. As Erik Sykes once said:
"I would like to say to all the young people who are young comics, who feel they wan't to come up in this business, whatever you do, don't watch television, because if you do, you'll only get steeped in mediocrity. All you have to do is to save up the money and go and see this fella here (Ken Dodd), becuase if you think you can do what he does then you have a place, because this man is a Chippendale in a romm full of G-Plan furniture"
I have - hence why I said again.
Sorry! Been drinking since 3 this afternoon, only just got in... so my reading and interpretation skills are not what they should be!
Haha!
