Who's the last stand up you saw? Page 3

I would love to have Seen Bill Hicks.

Was he buried or cremated?

I see stand up quite a bit... Last well known stand up I saw was Ross Noble. He was BRILLIANT. Going to see Lee Evans in November, bought my ticket for it last November. Now THAT is mad!

It is! He may have a heart attack before then.

Better start getting used to it, mwah ha ha haaa!

First they take our money, now they're planning to take our youth! You pesky Jews!

No that's you.

Laughing out loud

OK then!

Only things I take things easy. I don't run around at 100mph like a deranged gibbon.

Hahaha! Laughing out loud

Or as Gordon Ramsey once said "a baby rhino running while trying to take a shit*

Ken Dodd in January - brilliant.

Prior to that saw 3 gigs in a 2 month spell at the back end of last year:

Frank Skinner - Very good but would be on stage for around 5 minutes if he couldn't use his shagging gags.

Frankie Boyle - Ok. He was the one who I had the greatest expectations for and he was a little disappointing.

Lee Mack - phenomenal. One of the best stand-ups I've ever seen. Manic, great improvisor and, simply, very very funny.

Another excellent live comic is a guy called Rob Deering. He was on the bill at a local comedy night here in Bolton and blew everyone away. Should be massively popular - he puts people like Paddy fooking McGuinness to shame.

I've seen him on telly.

I saw Rob Deering a couple of years ago. Really rather shit.

Does anyone else on here, besides me, just not see the appeal of this bloke? So what if he's good at ad libbing? I'd much rather he perform some proper pre-written material. Actually, whilr I'm on the subject, I've also never been a fan of Paul Merton's piss poor little off-the-cuff attempts, on HIGNFY. Who's with me on this?

I take it you're talking about Ross Noble and his ad libbing? I think it's very clever. You walk onto a stage in front of loads of people and make people laugh with very little pre prepared material. Incredible. And I am sure, some of it is planned. He's just intelligent and clever enough to make it look spontanious.

Merton is a plonker.

I'm with you, I haven't seen him live but I have seen ALOT of his material and I don;t find him the best comedian on earth he's funny don;t get me wrong but I find he can beat around the bush a lot until he hits something funny.

I think the fact that his shows are broadcast so much shows how great he is, actually. (Note the sarcasm.)

He's got really really lazy in the last few series', IMO. Just doesn't give it any effort anymore.

I agree. I think part of the blame has to be put on how 'non-alternative' (if that's a word) HIGNFy has become. What's the point in putting effort into a show that won't change anything?
