Don't you hate it when the news is crap? Page 2

Yes Canada recognized Kosovo yesterday. I think it's hypocritical for Quebec to require a separate vote ( a referendum) for separation but we recognize Kosovo by simply voting in a separatist party.
The Conservatives have just opened a can of worms that had been shut for years.and the Bloc Quebecois have already jumped on it.
So #1 it's hypocritical to say we recognize a country separated without a referendum then tell Quebec they still need that referendum to separate.
#2 also don't think it was fair for the entire population of the country to have not held a referendum. If they are so sure that they won the right to separate then they should not be scared to hold that referendum. To me western countries are just jumping on this to spite Russia and ignoring everything else.
#3 It will give Quebec more clout to separate, something that they haven't had much of for years.
Hope that helps to clarify.

Talking of Canada, is everybody's door really always unlocked, as suggested by Michael Moore in Bowling For Columbine?

Laughing out loud No everyone does but a lot do. It depends on the neighborhood or even city. When I lived in Sudbury I could walk into any house no one locked their doors. Even when they left a lot of my friends doors were unlocked.
Here in Ottawa I usually leave my door unlocked all day. I will usually lock it at night but that's about it. Although when my fiancee is home alone she keeps the door locked.
A quick funny story a few of my friends from Sudbury rented a townhouse together in a rough area of town (actually the place was used in a Rolling Stones music video), and they kept getting broken into broken into because theives knew they never locked their doors. They got robbed 4 times! And two of those times they were up in their rooms and the robbers had just walked in and took their Xbox and laptops!
Besides the major metropolises like Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal I think most people feel pretty secure.

Aaron, Aaron, Aaron, Canadians are people too.

No apostrophe. :P

(Are they?)

Yes I only just heard about Birds Eye, and Minghella, what a shocking day. Well I never knew Clarky was knighted, good for him, and his satellites.

As for Birds Eye. I'd like to know what Harry Ramsden was upto when he was killed.

I can imagine the scene in heaven. And here I am, imagining it . . .

Loads of people who've died in the past 30 years are eagerly hanging around on the other side of the Pearly Gates.
Dead bloke: "Ooh, ooh, who is it now? Is it someone famous?"
Other dead bloke: "It's Arthur C Clarke."
Dead bloke: "Who?"
Other dead bloke: "Dunno. I think somebody said he was on satellite telly."
Dead bloke: "Never heard of him. Anyone else?"
Other dead bloke: "Anthony someone. Directed The English Patient."
Dead bloke: "Ooh, that posh bird off Four Weddings got her kit off in that, didn't she?"
Other dead bloke: "Yeah, cheers mate." (Gives thumbs up to Minghella)
Dead bloke: "Nobody, really, really famous, then?"
Other dead bloke: "No, not really. Hang on, isn't that? It can't be? Noo!"
Dead bloke: "It is! Captain Birdseye! Fantastic! A proper famous person!"

Yes..yes they are. The house also constantly reeked of marijuana and stale beer. Currently one of them is on the run from creditors, one is on disability after a messing up his knee pursuing his dream as a professional old school break dancer, the other quit his job as a chef to build houses up north and the other is now working in the tar sands of Alberta working in the middle of nowhere....and he's really the only one I still keep in contact with on a regular basis.
Super nice and fun guys to hang out with but I think that sums up how their brains function. If you have me on Facebook you can actually find the break dancer and the ex chef in my list of friends.

LOL does not even begin to cover it.

Curt, is it true that when Canadians talk the top of their heads float up and down instead of their mouths moving?

Curt that was LOLROFLSMP(not the last bit). Write it up, it sounds like an ace sitcom.

Come to think of it that would make a pretty funny sitcom. Those guys were real characters.
Anyways here's a picture of Adam doing a handstand off a pickup truck with a smoke hanging from his mouth (before his operation).

Has Kosovo recognised Canada yet?

I recognised Canada. It's that big lump on top of the USA.
