Impress publishers Page 2

Ever the cynic, there's a line on that form, funding available to support publication........

There's loads of sites like Triond, that publish you on line purely electronically (for free, I have some sorrowful ignored little bits on them). You get paid buttons, but atleast you don't have to pony up the dough.

Yes I noticed that Sootyj, that's why I asked on here did anyone know if it was a vanity publisher

Surely it all depends on whether they are asking for money.

I've had poems in those books where you buy copies andthey publish all sorts of crap.

All of the ‘Impress’ publications are available immediately via Amazon i.e. order today delivery by 16th March. Therefore I don’t think they’re a vanity publishers (and they’re obviously not a print-on demand publishers).

Vanity publishers would not be able to stock Amazon due to the stock levels required (the authors would be doing their own leg work visiting local booksellers etc).

On-demand publishers usually offer tie-ins with Amazon for a fee (i.e. authorsonline.co.uk) but there will be a waiting time of 7 to 14 days prior to dispatch (to allow time for the book to be printed).

The “is funding available for publication?” question is querying whether the author has an arts foundations grant (or various other bursaries available to some students).

Pretty sure Impress are legit (not that companies like ‘authorsonline.co.uk’ are not legit).

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Writer2K.
I've only sent them a synopsis and 20 pages or so at the moment
