Just in case anyone isn't aware, the fifth season of Monk started on BBC2 on Saturday afternoon. If you haven't yet caught this show it's about a detective with OCD and is up there with Boston Legal as America's funniest export in years. Check it out.
Monk
Oh, I didn't realise this was back... thanks for letting us know!
I love Monk but never manage to catch many episodes because it is scheduled all over the place. I haven't seen it since about series two (or whichever series he changed helpers). I hope it's still got the same police gang in it.
I set the video for it last Saturday because I was working, and the damn video didnt come on untill the closing credits. I love that show too, but it was better before Sharona left.
I'll wait till it comes out on DVD. I have the series 1 to 4 boxset.
It's also on Hallmark on Sundays - at 10 or 11am and then repeated at 7.00pm. One of my absolute favourites; do give it a go - very funny at times, touching too and quite clever stories. You can often guess the twist but it doesn't detract. Excellent entertainment.
The actor who plays Monk is hilarious. I remember first seeing him years ago, in that film in which Bill Murray, Geena Davis and Randy Quade robbed a bank.
Where he dresses as a clown?
I didn't know he was in that.
Yeah, he plays a shop-keeper, who doesn't even speak English. He spends most of his time on screen, struggling to tell the Police that Bill Murray is the man they should be arresting, when they're arresting the wrong man.
Heh.
I love him on Galaxy Quest.
Oh yeah, I thought he was good in that as well.
Tony Shaloub was also very good in the Spy Kids movies.
Tony was also great in both Men In Blacks and if you didn't know he started out in Wings. The new season of Monk just ended here with a two part finale. Won't spoil it. Great stuff.
He was also superb as both the fast-talking producer in 'Barton Fink' and the fast-talking lawyer in 'The Man Who Wasn't There'.
It's just been announced that actor Stanley Kamel, who played Monk's Dr. Kroger, was found dead at his Hollywood home as a result of a heart attack. Kamel was 65.
That's a shame. Not only is he good in Monk, but I remember him fondly playing a slimy doctor in the excellent Murder One.
