The Cure Page 2

I know Ben Folds did a cover of one of their songs. That is all.

It may have been the Smoking Room song actually.

Is he into origami?

Or made out of origami...

I'll origami you two in a minute...

Being aged 34, The Cure were one of the major loves of my teenage life, when I was in a band and going out with a goth girl (who used to take drugs and then play the recorder with her nose). Great days of self-loathing and jitter juice.

Particular favourites, obviously 'Just Like Heaven' (though Dinosaur Jr's cover is a better version) and the beautiful 'Letter To Elise'.

Laughing out loud

I bought 12" Forest when it first came out - and greatest hits. I love Love Cats too.

I think Jude used to have something to do with their fan club some years ago.

Dave's right:D

I LOVE The Cure, used to open their fan mail and help with the merchandising and stuff for their gigs. Happy days...

It was an amazing job and I still PROPERLY love themLovey

I've always liked Love Cats as well. I've always thought it to be a really strange song for a Goth group to come up with. It's almost like a Jazz song, and is surprisingly upbeat. Then again, I've always been a fan of the double bass, and want to learn how to play it one day.

wow! that sounds brilliant! xD

I've got their greatest hits and one of the studio albums.

They're pretty good!

I can't believe they're still around!
Friday and I'm In Love reminds me of being drunk at my local youth club back in the day.

Six Different Ways is a great unknown song by them.

I loved the Cure, still do I suppose.

Does anyone remember The Mary Whitehouse Experience doing a spoof of the Cure. They stated how the Cure could never do a happy song. You would see the gang dressed up as the cure singing the theme to Playaway the kids program, and it sounded so depressing.

Every week, they did a different happy song in a miserable way. Then as soon as the series finished, the Cure released "Friday I'm IN Love". An amazing happy song.

Shall I start one on the Damned too?

Brilliant punk/goth/pop band - definitly with tongue in cheek.
