Did anyone go to the Green Wing convention?

Did anyone here go to the convention? Here's what one person said about it on the convention forum.

hello everyone!

First of all I want to thank the committee and all the helpers for a most wonderful day. Ladies, you should be so proud of yourselves!

It really couldn't have worked out better. It was everything we wished for and more.

I had the most fantastic time - finding a parking space was just the start!

I loved meeting you all, and want to thank all of you for putting up with my maunderings and musings over GW.

And I was thrilled to be on Team Sue, the winning quiz team! we did her proud!

And weren't the GW people wonderful? Such good sports. James, Richard, Oriane, Billy, Patrick, Finn and the other chaps were so generous with their time. And then Steve turning up and being such a good sport - The Guyball, the spoon of destiny - such a charm bucket!

The Q&A session was really revealing, the auction was amazing - so much money was raised!

What a paerfect day!

The BFI won't be a patch on that!

In case you are wondering I think the people referenced are James Henry, Richard Preddy, Oriane Messina (all writers), Patrick Schulenburg (Producer's Assistant), Billy Sneddon (Offline Director), Finn Hospon (3rd Assistant Director) and Stephen Mangan.

I had been hoping to, but in the end time and money prohibited it. Sounds like it was a good day though!

I know someone who went, the photos I've seen looked fun. Stephen was brave to go!

I should post an update, as Robert Harley was also there, and he was also doing the auction. There he said, "Julian wanted to be here but his cat is ill".

Just found out in a PM that £2,205 was raised in the auction. Shame I failed to win anything.

Steve was good enough to come to the convention and was the most wonderful sport - he refereed the Guyball match and played in the final of "Spoon of Destiny", both of which were enormous fun. Yes brave, but he'd have had 8 committee members between him and any trouble, this was a very carefully organised convention, 8 months in the planning.

Equally important were the writers, we had a question and answer session that was another highlight of the day. Richard, Oriane, and James answered questions for about an hour. Billy Sneddon also turned up for the Q&A and was a big hit.

Rob Harley did the charity auction for us. I was so impressed by how generous with their time these people were.

And we had a brilliant time. Photos are on http://s116.photobucket.com/albums/o2/winginitconvention/
