But it does have a blue light and it makes the noise! Awesome.
Also it has a pen on the other end that writes with invisible ink and only shows up in the blue light.

I tried some of the very first series and it was just not for me. Good christ it was old. As was he.
You need to see season twelve -fourteen, particularly fourteen. Every single episode of that season is a classic. You don't believe me but it's true. The new series has had its moments but it was never darker, better written or better acted than season fourteen. If you only watch one make it the 'Talons of Weng Chiang'.
The series was toned down in the following season after complaints from mary whitehouse and they introduced the winsome humour that endures to this day.

Haha, that's great. There's been some interesting TV merchandise over the past few years, but that Sonic Screwdriver does sound great.
