£11.26 from NewsRevue - my first earnings as a writer...
...unless you include the £125 I got for a greetings card caption that didn't even go into full production.

Roses are red Violets are blue

Oh and congratulations, getting paid is always symbolically super important.
It means some one commercially valued your work.
Cool, sounds very exciting.
Are you going cash it or frame it?

I'll probably photocopy it and frame it as I'm a bit short of cash.
The NR sketch was Prime Minister's Question Time done as a mime. They used it one week and thinking about it, I'm surprised it got used at all as only one person spoke.
If I'd thought about the logistics of performing it I probably wouldn't have sent it but I'm glad I did.
Send enough shit and something will stick.

This explains why when I went to the doctor with constipation he sent me a bundle of sticks.
When I got paid for my first BBC sketch, I framed the confirmation document I got.
Was about to stick it up on the wall at work, until I noticed it had not only my name and address and telephone number but ALSO all my blank details. It's sitting at home now.
well done tuumble. my first writing cheque (£25) is framed alongside an article published in Viz. I think i get 1% of that if it's republished in an annual. fingers crossed eh
Well done! Heady days to hit the big money!
I once got 2' 6d per hour for teaching kids to play the trumpet. I filled my boots!
The closest I got to contributing to Viz was designing an advert that was included in the classified section. Still gave me a buzz at the time...much like vibrator I've accidentally sat on.
Accidentally?

How do you get into Viz, do tell please, pretty please.

What I do in my lunch hour is no concern of yours!
I got a colour photocopy of my first broadcast sketch cheque and paid it in. Every little counts!
Well done Tuumble, I got my first cheque from NR last month too.
Which reminds me, I must cash it! Still haven't been paid for other sketches I did though, must chase them up.
Does anyone keep all the running orders? Can't rember when my sketch ran? lol.
Again \o/ well done!
I got myself arrested for public indecency when I first got something performed.
So I could get writer written under occupation on the arrest sheet.
