Hi there, I've just been reading through the site and its forums etc and just had to register. What a great site. In fact, what a great community - that seems more realistic.
My name is Andy and I am a 33 year-old from the North East of Scotland. I have long had a love for comedy in general and along with 2 other thirty-somethings who shuld know better have written a pilot episode of a sitcom based around the very real (and sometimes quite pathetic) relationship that exists between the Scots and the English . It provided us with many great comedy ideas (well, at least we thought so but we are completely biased). v
I've also tried a few sketches on my own and if I feel brave (or stupid) enough I might post one or two on the site to get some constructive (or destructive) criticism - depending on how friendly you all are!.
I have a very large funny bone (please no replies to that line) and love reading other people's outpourings so this site looks ideal for a man like myself.
I look forward to spending time reading about you all and your own comedy 'experiences'.
Take care,
Andy
Another newbie to pick on........
Hi Andy.
Hey there Andy
See you over in the Critique forum soon then.
Dan
Feeling welcome already - hi guys.
Thought there was no time like the present Dan so have posted some scribbles on the 'critique' forum.
Andy
Welcome Andy. I used to live up in the North East there. Nice part of the world, but the language was an issue. 'Loons and Quines', give me simple Glaswegian any day.
FREEDOM!!!! Sorry, I was watching Braveneart last night.
My congratulations go to Baumski - knew it wouldn't be long before the first mention of Braveheart. You may take the mickey but you will never take my freedom. P
And ho to Rosco - I am a weegie by birth (a 'Rottenrower' - explains a lot). Most of my rellies are still in Kings Park on the south side. However, no weegie accent as family moved north when I was knee high to a Ronnie Corbett. Don't say quine and loon too often though - ken fit I mean.
Andy
Welcome Andy
Hope you enjoy things round these parts
hello and welcome to the site i know you will enjoy it, and i look forward to seeing some work of yours.

Sounds intriguing...
And hello.
There must be a number of people down south looking at your comments and thinking what theh hell is he saying!
For anyone looking at N.E.Scotland for a holiday, the following short dictionary may help
Loon Male Youth
Quine Female Youth

Whit What
I've written a good sketch in Scot's, but it takes a lot to work out what it says. So I've not put it in the Forum yet. Maybe I should use the sketch in a competition, translate this into English and win a prize.
