New series starts next Wednesday, 8th Sept at 10pm, BBC4, for those interested. And you should be.

Oh bum, I forgot to remember. Hope it can carry on its great quality without getting a tad TOO precise in its period depiction. I was starting to feel that it was a bit too meticulous at times in the last series and that was maybe getting in the way of the very deliberate and slow drama. In other words it was getting close to looking over produced, imoo of course. Minor quibbles tho, conceded. Do they repeat each one later in the week again?
Ah worry not, I've just been informed that yesterday was the 1st, not the 8th. That's good.

Well you haven't missed it yet. Doesn't start till next week, old bean.
And if you do happen to miss it, in the past they've repeated it a few days later on BBC2.

Ah!
I've seen the first four and they're stonking - much better than the lacklustre Betty-centric season 3- although rather annoyingly they've pushed it forward another year. When it reaches 1968 and it starts to look like Department S I'm no longer watching.
I may have mentioned this before, but the episode where Don Draper's boss makes a pass at Don's wife, and Don goes on to humiliate him by making him throw up in front of some clients, is one of the finest hours of telly ever.
Season 4 starts tonight, for those of you who might need a reminder.
(Yes, I'm looking at you, Kipper!)
Thank you Mr Lucas, I've set my reminder thing.
It's brilliant. I don't watch much drama but this blows me away.
I've thoroughly enjoyed season 4 so far but the last episode shown on the beeb (7 I think?) swallowed my balls whole. Which is a good thing.
Quote: Godot Taxis @ April 12 2010, 3:13 PM BSTOn the subject of 'strays' Kinsey has a black girlfriend and is involved in radical politics. He also has a beard - which was a strong statement of radical intent back then that we just can't appreciate now.
Great scene where a disapproving Joan calls Kinsey a fake, so he sticks up her birth certiifate on the notice board.
Peggy's getting to do a lot of funny stuff this season. The bit where her head pops up behind the window of Don's office wall a few episodes back cracked me up.
Everyone got neglected last season with the Don and Betty show. Bit of a shame since Don has never been that interesting a character and Betty's not interesting at all.
I've got a few bones to pick with this season - the period fashion and design accuracy has slipped badly and Roger has had way too few interventions and funny lines. His John Wayne anti-Nip rant didn't ring true either.
Other than that the writing has been really strong - probably the best since series one. The episode Dave mentions (The Suitcase) is one of the best three made in my opinion. It was written by the series creator incidentally.
Just caught up with season 4 of this. It's just taken over from Six Feet Under as my fave ever ever ever TV drama.
The episode with Don and Peggy staying overnight together in the office was incredible.
Pissed off, of course, that Sky have bought it. Do they really think any of the few hundred thousand viewers it got on Beeb 4 are going to sign up for their service? Have they never heard of the DVD box set? Chumps.

Worrying news about S5 though:
I saw that. Frustrating as it is, I think there's been a history of disputes between Weiner and bosses.
The Sopranos had a few larger than average gaps between seasons and it did the show good.
