Get Smart

I used to love this show starting the hilarious Don Adams as Agent 86. It's also the only show I think Mel Brooks did.
I'm was happy to see it's revision in the new movie staring Steve Carell as Agent 86 what a great choice! If you haven't had a chance to see here is a link to the preview.
Does anyone else remember this show? Or any comments on the new upcoming movie?

I've never even heard of it. Possibly not shown here? :-/

It used to be shown quite a lot on Brit TV in the 80's, I think; I used to enjoy it, not sure what Id actually make of it today though.

Iiinteresting. Surprised I've not heard of it before really, but heyho, ok! :)

I personally still think it's a funny show and the only American show from that era that I could see myself watching all of the seasons over again.
for Aaron: It was a comedy that satirized the secret agent movies and shows of it's time. Do you remember the cartoon "Inspector Gadget"? That was based off of Get Smart and actually had the same actor voicing Inspector Gadget.
the most famous prop was his telephone shoe that he would take off his foot and hold to his head.
Here is a good quote from the show:

Chief: Max, I don't know what I'm going to do about you. You bungle assignment after assignment.
Maxwell Smart: I resent that, Chief.
Chief: Do you deny it?
Maxwell Smart: No, but I resent it.

The show is so obviously Mel Brooks I love it. And the Don Adams facial expressions and seriousness made the show.

Haha, sounds like it could be worth a look at then. *hums the Inspector Gadget theme tune*

The 80s? Don't you mean the 60s?

I used to really fancy the dark haired girl who was his assistant when I was about 10.

You were ten in the 60s Dave? Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud

Yes Ray. He was. :)

The 1460s.

She was smoking hot.
But Anne Hathaway's super hot too and she's going to be doing the new agent 99.

But that photo makes her look all lopsided.

I remember 'Get Smart' being shown in the 80's (even though it's a '60s show). I think ITV showed it in the early hours of the morning just after they started transmitting 24hr a day. Not sure if it was shown in all ITV regions. HTV West used to show US comedy very late at night('Sledgehammer' 'Married With Children' etc)

Just looked it up on Wikipedia; they're making an updated film version to be released later this year.
