Comedy Podcasts

Hi,

Thought I'd flag up these two superb podcasts as neither show gets much of a mention on these shores.

First, a link to a This American Life. The episode is entitled 'Tough Room' and is a fascinating look at what it takes to make an audience laugh. The middle story is worthy of special mention - where Ira gets an inside look at the editorial process at The Onion.

The second is a podcast is from social science show Radiolab. It's called 'Laughter'. I promise, it's nowhere near as drab as I make it sound. It deals with the physical process of laughter and why we humans need it.

Go check them out, you'll barely regret it.

Thanks for the links, I listened to the Onion segment of the first one, very funny and interesting. Amazing how much material they throw away.

I'll check the other one out later.

cheers david. the first day as new writer for the onion must be pretty daunting. and interesting the level of scrutiny each headline goes through - very clinical.

WTF With Marc maron is a must for all fans of American comedy. Twice a week, Stand Up Marc Maron gets into it with a different stand up/comedic actor/writer. In the latest ep posted he's chatting to Amy Poehler from Parks And Rec. It's really an addictive show and, as well as people you won't have heard of, he talks to a lot of popular, well known funny folk; such as Louis CK, Judd Apatow and Garry Shandling.

These guys have just started and are actually really good, seeing as it's their first try, quite offensive so not for the easily offended haha, it was such a random but good find! It's worth checking them out! http://youtu.be/PZhT7kq9i98
