Spin off from Grange Hill

Grown up ex Grange Hill pupils, who still never say FUCK!

Gripper Stebson now a top hairdresser, maybe he's gay.....

Wsn't that Tuckers Luck? it was pretty tragic, besides Tucker moved to Walford, and died of AIDS

T=ckers lu=k!!????? no true grange hill fan talks about that folly.

I did say ''grown up''.

Acutally wasn't there more than one of the Grange Hill exies who dragged up in Eastenders?

What would you call it?

I think the current career path is:-

Grange Hill
EastEnders
The Bill

With an appearance in ‘Last Of The Summer Wine’ to be phased in at a later date.

Wouldn't death at an earlier stage be more merciful.

Nobody would notice

Your not jealous of the constant work and the ridiculously high pay packet then Sootyj ?

If you look at sad sad fate of Reg Hollis etc, and Eastenders long list of drunks, druggies, and moribund pop careers. I think I'd envy the guy who lives on Holloway road, and talks to the dustbins.
Money can't compensate for intense shame.

I love the word moribund.

Shame I have no idea what it means.

Dull slow, going no where. The new funky BBC sitcom about wacky friends, sharing, drinks, laughs, and relationships in the naughties was moribund

It was also shit.

It is a sad fact that there is no funny sitcom on any channel, clever yes, ''post modern'' yes, racist in a post modern way , yes, but funny, no.

The best thing on at the mo, is on the buses, sexist in that glorious carry ontradition , funny at times, but so so comforting, like slipping into your wife, and you knowing she doesnt know you just slipped out of your girlfriends back door 10 mins previously.

Father Ted, Red Dwarf seasons 1-3, The Office, i think they all have their charms, as well as Nathan Barley (structurally quite similar to the hits of the 70s)

On the Buses, like Love Your Neighbour, have been quite done down over the years.

There's a huge well of hypocrisy that Terry and June (no black characters), is seen as better moraly then Love thy Neighbour (black characters, could have handled them better) But a lot of deadly dull stuff at the moment.

I find the Little Britain way of using disability, and black prosthetics, a damn sight more offensive than love thy neighbour, and less funny.

Love Thy Neighbour was a very brave sitcom in it's day.

Sitcoms have been used very succesfully in the past to highlight the stupidity of racism, sexism, and stereotyping, ok, they may not have always gone about it in the way we would now, but at least they DID it! And to judge them from a 2008 perspective is pointless.

What risk taking do we have now? My Family running for God knows how long just sums up the poor output.

Anyone that grew up in the 60s should and does expect more than the pap churned out these days; 100s of channels, and no quality.

People too young to remember classics like, Steptoe, Dad's Army, etc etc, from the first time around, at least have the video and DVD, we didn't, yet, we have them imprinted in our psyche.
