Gah! Canada was expected to be a shoe in for animated short with two nominations but you guys won it with "Peter and the Wolf" so congratulations to you guys in that category. I'm going to try and get my hands on it this week it looks pretty cool actually.
Oscars: Best animated short film
Never heard of it.
Well, obviously the original. But not this new fangled animation thing.
Anyway, we're the best at everything, so it was surely just a formality?
(The Oscars are poo anyway, don't worry.)

Thank you. I was hard work, but we finally did it in the end. God save the Queen and her lovely corgies.

Curt - have you seen Madame Tutli Putli? think that was one of the candian crop. They spent 2 years in a dark room stop motion animating ! And i thought i was dedicated stop motioning a candle for 20 minutes! The results are amazing though. Madame Tutli Putli that is......liked even pigeons go to heaven as well. If you get the chance there's a great short called the animal book made by a birmingham production company. Don't think it's on line yet......

Yes, I have seen it, a very beautiful stop motion piece I really liked it. I had not known about the background of the film though so thanks for that. Glad to see another stop motion fan.
Only saw the Peter and the Wolf one but its very old. Wonder why it wasn't nominated last year. Maybe it was nominated because of the new recording of Peter and the Wolf they put on it. Its a great animation though

No idea. It would be natural, seeing as we're amazing. But it's still the Oscars.
Isn't that just because most Americans boycotted it?

Wow I wrote that last email like a southern hick "Brits did cleaned up at the Oscars" emmm hmmm yea'want sum grits'n taters with dat?
Well f**k my sister! So you did boy
What's a grit?
It's like a corn based porridge that Southern Americans like to boil to the point that it becomes hard. They often eat it at breakfast. I don't get it, but my Texas friends swear by it....but they also swear that you can deep fry any food and make it delicious... I don't know how those folk live past age 30.

Are they originally from Scotland?
