Sketch Show Submitting

This week, I collected together 10 of my best sketches and put them together as a sketch show script. I put together a synopsis as well which detailed the aim of the show, actors needed, demographics etc. I've sent it off to as many production companies as I could find on this site and 4Laughs.

I just wondered if anyone had had any luck from this approach?

My main aim at the moment isn't to get a show of my own, but I just hope someone at one of the production companies will remember at least one of my sketches.

Interesting, exactly what I was planning on doing my self. Better pull my finger out eh.

The trend at the moment is for talent-driven shows. So try to have someone in mind and mention them in your pitch. As in "Hi, please find enclosed the Cannon And Ball Sketch Show".

Only not Cannon and Ball.

Does the unsolicited rule apply when sending in sketches?

To the BBC double yes. You need to show you can put together 30 minutes of material, and how you will make it into atleast 180.

Ta sootyj!

Have you checked out writers room, on BBC

If you have some skits, try Roughcuts at the Comedy Unit

No I haven't but I will now. Cheers!

A brief update:

- 3 production companies emailed me back to say that they don't accept unsolicited scripts.

- Big Bear Films emailed me back to say "It's fun, but not right for us".

- I got a letter in the post today from Objective Productions. It was just confirming they had received the script and would contact me if they wanted to develop it further.

No green lights so far then!

Which don't accept out of interest?

I thought Big Bear didn't either.

The ones that didn't accept were:
Zeppotron
Tiger Aspect

I thought it was 3 companies, but it was actually 2.

When I started out I got over excited and did something similar to you, got a bunch of sketches together ect. (But porbably with less thought than you).

I got a lot of replys but all were piss off but I got a few saying they would keep on file and if anything came up they would give me a call. It's been 2 years and I've heard nothing, I think they lost interest :D

Good luck with it Winter.
