It didn't work for me because people undergoing this type of surgery don't look like Bulmore - they look like men in dresses. It would have been far braver, and far truer, to get a man to play the role.

Some of then look like women , more than some women do!

Ladyboys aint just a drink mate!

Have you seen Tula? They used him/her on the posters for one of the James Bond films because his/her legs were better than any womans - allegedly. Well Charley's anyway.

Just watched this. Found myself getting a bit bored for most of it as unfortunately I thought the characters were quite clicheed. Like they had a really good idea and then filled it with derivative characters. I thought Amelia Bullmore was quite good, though as said, laid on the bitchiness a bit too much. I think she's been good in everything she's been in lately (almost forgiven her for being in a soap opera).

Story wasn't so bad, just the characterisation bit derivative (kid with behavioural problems/bright kid with popularity problems/outcast kid coming back bitterly). Would've been nice if they were more left-field.

Out of the two broadcast so far, I'd prefer Being Human for a series, though the ending was levering itself to a sort of shoddy Underworld-esque plot (the film, not the TV series) rather than the 'human' drama of the pilot.

Thanks Caroline.
I did get to watch it in the end. I thought it was not bad. I loved the little boy character & the girl's. My fav was the grandmother though, with her love balls.
True they should have got a real man to play it. I think it would have been slightly better.
Still quite enjoyable, with a few laugh out louds.

It's a bit late, but I'm always a bit behind the curve, even if it's a hormone-induced curve:

I quite liked the show, but then, I'm a sucker for anything remotely Abbott. Amelia Bullmore was wonderful, I thought, and the rest of the cast quite good too.
(If the little girl dyed her hair black, she'd be a PERFECT Wednesday Addams.)
