I've worked in tv production (mostly comedy) for 20 years and was pointed towards this forum by a friend. I posted two friendly lines in my first ever posting and was immediately accused of being an existing member's alter ego.
I've had worse receptions but I can't remember when.

Sorry you feel that way, there has been spate of multiple alias posters recently (and some damn onery ones) so there maybe some innate paranoia still lying about (they will mop it up when they employ a cleaner) 
We are a friendly and helpful bunch here, I'm sure Rube will even bake you some welcome cookies (you must insist she used American ingredients... Trust Me!)
Sorry to hear about that Prentis. I've checked out the thread and had a go at a number of people. They're not normally such bitchy twats, particularly to new members. Looks like you were unlucky in being jumped on by the few members who can get quite so pissy like that. Hope you see this and come back anyway, so welcome ish!

This makes me angry. I would like to apologise about your experience and hope that you may reconsider but understand why you wouldn't. I think some members have elevated themselves to positions where they believe that their opinions are more worthy than any others. That is of course bullshit. The sooner they drop their egos, prejudices and malicious jeasously the sooner the BSG can get back to doing what it does best in a friendly environment. Apologies again Prentis
