I've just read the intro thread. I echo Aaron's point. Grow the f**k up everyone. However important or righteous your opinion is its no more or less valid than anyone elses. Honesty doesn't mean shitting on a person's work. Try to be constructive not destructive.

First time posters will be defensive, just ignore their comments if they are overly reactive. Better still if a sketch is really 'unfunny/offensive' in your opinion just don't comment and it will fall off the page. Not commenting is the best form of negative critique.

So are you suggesting that one should only ever post positive comments?

I would suggest that if you've taken the time to read the original piece you have a right to comment as long as it's not personal.

And for myself I never shat on anyone's work. But I'm available, for a charge. I bring my own cup too.

As for your ire at Prentis Y Dewin's departure - he must have been uber sensitive to take flight... if someone accused me of being someone else I'd just find it funny. Or I'd correct them. Pretty simple. Although Sooty's comments were a bit extreme .

Having said that his/her comment that the Madeleine song was "clearly not the work of an amateur", coupled with the needlessly explosive exit, seemed to cast doubt to my mind on any producing credits he or she undoubtedly has.

It would be sad if genuine newbies were discouraged from using the site but for the life of me I can't see anything here that would genuinely deter someone with an interest in posting, nor can I see anywhere but Foxy's lap to be the resting place for the majority of the blame were this to be the case.

Well I was stuck between a rock & a hard place.
To give the critique that I wanted to give, would mean I would end up having to explain myself. Which happened. I knew someone would say or ask something. It just happened to be MLewis before anyone else Fair quezzie.

I read the song way, way before I commented on it. To begin with I decided not to bother. Then I thought f**k it. I have a duty too. I have the right to an opinion so endorsed my right.

I critique everything I read. If I do not critique then I have not read it.

In amongst all this hand wringing, diferent things offend different people. Personally I like to leave this forum on whilst I'm working and quickly drop a post every now and then.

I'm dyslexic, I've said it before, I don't mind mickey taking, and usually appreciate advice (I know production companies won't be forgiving).

But every now and then I let a howler through, because I'm distracted, or busy. So when the only response to a post, or even a whole thread is correction of my grammar, then I get a little hurt, and feel a tad demeaned.

We all have feelings, and we all wan to feel treated equally.

A post now and then?? Holy schmuck have you seen your post count?

I think that everyone on here is really a figment of Aaron's imagination just so that he thinks he's got some friends. And that includes me - whoever I am.

Well we obviously differ in opinion James. (The following is not aimed at anyone)

The BSG should be, in my opinion, inclusive not exclusive. If anyone wants to write comedy and post it here they should be able to without fear of being attacked for their work personally and other users shouldn't be accused of using mutliple accounts unless you have proof. What this thread has done is have the effect of putting off one user and I would guess another user aswell from ever posting here again. I'm not saying this is anyone's fault in particular but its the general cumalative effect of this thread.

If you want someone to take comments on board then they are far more likely to do so if it is done constructively and in a positive manner. Any over form of critique is only serving the poster giving the critique. Doubly so if the writer is new to the BSG.

I fail to see how this is not aimed at me.
I was not scathing in my original critique and even later when rattled only went so far as to say the song was "poor".

I was attacked personally as a result so any defence of Foxy's actions is f**king appalling. All this hand-wringing is a joke.

You can congratulate yourself that you're shot of me now so you can all enjoy Foxy's wondrously positive contributions to the board without fear of me interrupting with anything approaching sanity.
