A Song for Madeleine Page 3

A wise move. Your future on the site is now assured.

It's an old trick among the experienced website bully-boys: isolate your enemy by making the rational majority frightened to speak in support of him/her for fear of being similarly isolated.

It works. :(

Give me a break Foxy. It was poor and that's that. Get over it. If you want to make it better don't pick the McCanns as a target for protracted derision - at least not unless some drastic new development comes up - and try putting some jokes in too. Charley says anything's fair game, but that still comes with the caveat it has to actually be funny. I can't see how this concept could possibly be funny at the moment unless perhaps it was treated with a very skillful touch.

And when I express my honest opinion, don't try and be clever by (completely inappropriately) cutting and pasting my honest critique of your piece onto one of my own. It only shows you up to be an arse. And gets me rattled.

Foxy, you've done nothing but childishly insult. Give it a rest. I also resent being called a "website bully-boy", indirectly or otherwise, for expressing an opinion.

Edit - McCann's to McCanns. You can see how wound up I am from that schoolboy error. Rest assured I shall be self-medicating forthwith.

I have got to say I agree with everything James has just posted! (Except the poor bit)I think it has succeed as a controversial song. Not a giggle a minute song.

I am also adding James onto my "Never piss off" list.

Hang on. You started the thread about her in the first place - and I thought you were watching TV.

I never f**king did David.

Show me where I have started a Maddy thread.

I cant watch TV at mo, husband is cutting his toenails in the livingroom. I want to keep my eyes.

There's a simple way to prove that this is a good song; perform it. I would be fascinated to see how a discerning comedy audience reacted to it.

Hold on ladies and gents. Cut FoxyBox a bit of slack. It ain't easy posting stuff up for crit. He/she is the newbie.

Sorry - it was Aaron who started it. I'm always getting you two muddled up.

I remember it well... I wish I didn't!

I think Foxy you should use your comic talent on other subjects and leave Maddie alone. She's no doubt just a skeleton now having been raped a few times by sick men before being slung in a makeshift grave. It's not a subject I consider comedy material but each to their own.

Just to clarify & make myself clear (I knew I would feel the need to).
I personaly would NEVER do a sketch/song about a missing child. I do not have the brains to write it (In James words)with skill.
It does also need a certain sensitivity. Her parents are out there for f**k sake. I am not going to gun down (Whats his name)for trying it though. As i said. A song that succeds in controversy.

Good idea Barbs!!!!

A song about the dead victim of a paedophile killer is not going to need much to qualify as controversial so i don't see a point in giving credit for that.

I'm genuinely interested in which bits you laughed at - in any fashion. I have read it twice looking for the humor and cant spot it. Really - where did you see it?

Ok! Here we go. Charley left a reasonable comment & is going to end up attacked for it. This is the bit that made me laugh IN A CRINGEY WAY!!!!!!!!

AUDIENCE MEMBER (PLANT):
She’s behi-i-i-i-nd yo-o-o-o-o-u!

There. Now I will sit here & await you telling me what a Bitch I am for finding that CRINGEY FUNNY!

Well it could be worse, old music hall tap once for yes twice for no stuff.

Or a ventriloguist dummy thing.

In fairness NR have done way, way, way worse stuff then this song, and got beery good natured laughs.

So it isn't that controversial, it's probably not even that bad a song.

I still feel comedy is either, about everything, or it's about nothing.

Southpark has also done much nastier stuff, this pales before the episode where Butters parents murder him, and his parents join a support group for murderous parents.

They killed Butters? Oh no.

They thought they did, but he lives, I love Butters.
