I saw an advert for HDTV on my telly and the picture looked no better than my own TV's. So I won't be getting one yet.
But glad to hear a new vid is coming out, Stuart.
I didn't see the difference in HD until I watched a hockey game on an HD TC. I kept switching back and forth between the HD and none HD picture and it was startling how poor the regular picture was. It doesn't make that much difference when you are watching a normal tv show, the big difference is watching live tv like sport and award shows.
I think it'll be a while yet before HD really picks up here. It's picking up, but slowly. It seems to be rather big in the US (Canada too?) already, but then our SD is higher quality than that in the States, so the improvement isn't quite as great for British audiences.
That is true, you guys didn't wait as long to upgrade as we did in North America. Now the jump is quite big of a difference for us. My fiancee just bought one (a Sharp Aqua) and the picture is just gorgeous. We are going to have to get one sooner or later since the US is having it's switch off in a year and then a year later Canada is supposed to follow.
