Max And Paddy's Road To Nowhere Page 2

Interesting set of opinions...

I like Peter Kay alot, but he does a type of humour that I wouldn't expect to get beyond social clubs full of 25-40 year olds. It's a very generational content (roller cola, the A team, stars in their eyes) but I'm surprised so many dislike him.

I think his characters are very good, although I would hang fire on any mutterings of Ronnie Barker. I would say the same about Little Britain too...

I agree Peter Kay is so merchandised, but he's not particularily good or a hard worker. I thought Road To Nowhere was good but it could have been better. Paddy McGuinness is better at acting and stand-up.

The Sun has apparently said that there will be 2 new hour-long specials of this. Is this confirmed?

People dislike Peter Kay because he has taken the general public for a ride and is lazy, all his standup is the same set, he has 3 different stand up DVDs each with the same set, his autobiography is really the jokes from the standup and then each year he just releases "best of"s of this limited material to cash in on the Christmas market. I received the 'Special K' DVD as a present and it contains about the equivelent of the extras you would normally get on a normal decent comedy DVD (TV interviews, adverts etc, bloody rip off). He is taking us all for ride - shame really because Phoenix Nights and That Peter K Thing were really good, although that pop star crap was terrible!!

Phoenix Nights is one of my all-time faves but Road to Nowhere is pap. Watched it once and not planning a revisit. It's a shame because PN proves he can do it with the best.
:)

Nowhere near as good as Phoenix Nights.

That's a Trusim.

I wouldn't mind seeing a repeat though, it might be funnier second time around.

Doubt it.

I love this!!! Even to this very day I think it is a classic. I think Peter and Paddy should come back and do a series 2 or even a special. 6 episodes wasn't enough!!!

Brendon o'Carroll was in Road To Nowhere playing a security guard in one of the episodes. Cant remember for the life of me which one though.

He was security guard no.2 - the one in the dress ;)

Wasn't he fella with the van and he helped them steal the plasma tele?

I enjoyed Max and Paddy. I thought Paddy was good in this but has grown into a bit of a bore comically.

He was in Episode 1.

Will this ever make a return, it has so much potential, but wouldn't want them to act too stupid in it. I have the DVD and watch it once a year, I really enjot it, and I presume it did well in ratings when it was on. Does anyone know if a new series is likely?
