Collings & Herrin Podcast Page 3

I hate to be negative, but the background noise in the latest one (number 3) made me stop listening. I guess it might be my computer that made it sound awful, but also it might not.

Did you use a different mic for the last one?

Sorry about that! We had a lot of newspaper articles on the table and I think they made a lot of noise because we don't actually know where the built-in microphone is on the laptop! We must have been rustling against it. Perhaps someone knows where the mic is on an Apple laptop?

In the core?

A Mac?

I thought you'd be PC, and Herring would have been Mac?

They're not Mitchell & Webb.

They're not Mitchell & Webb.

Are they not?

My mistake.

Wait for them to start charging for the podcast.

:P

Richard was always PC*, but recently relented and went Mac. I've always been Mac. But neither of us wants to be Webb. And I hereby make a solemn promise that we will never charge for a podcast. Frankly, it's not in the spirit of podcasting to charge. And also, who would pay for us talking for 51 minutes and rustling paper.

(I'd really like to know where the built-in mic is, by the way.)

*Not politically correct, obviously. He's never been that.

Not me!

:D

As for the mic, try looking for a small hole along the frame of the screen.

Yeah, it'll be a hole or a tiny grate of some kind.

Poor Webb.

Mitchell IS better though. As are PCs of course.

Poor Webb.

Let's wait for him to make Garage - a US Drama about a feisty crime solving mechanic.

I did listen to it despite the rustling and it was strange parts were quite literally laughed out loud and other bits more meh, but all round I can't complain, I'm still listening (I have subscribed) looking forward to the next one :D

And a mic on your MAC!? I wouldn't know I only work with good computers.

(Yes we're a site full of computer geeks as well).

It's in the middley somewhere I think. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually inside the microphone socket thing.

Doesn't Ricky Gervais charge for his podcasts?

Ah! I see what you did there.

He does free ones now.

Vodcasts seem to be getting popular despite sounding like something you would do after having 10 Black Russians (the drink not err...). Basically video podcasts so we can see the mutual hate you have for each other in your eyes! :)

Or you could do a bit of product placement. Angelic
