What makes a bad apple? Page 2

This is a very big question and anything I can say hardly does it justice. But having lived in Spain for nearly twelve years, and before that trekked around Europe (Holland, France, Germany, Belgium) in one job or another, I've seen enormous differences in the way children (where it all starts) are treated, and from that how teenagers and young adults behave. 'Baby-sitting' for example, is a rare phenomena here. When parents go out for a meal in the evening (usually that means between 10 and 11pm) all their children are taken along as a matter of course. When they're older they go to clubs and discos that run all night, finishing at around 5am ... but I've never seen any drunk kids here ... in fact I've never seen any adults in that state either. And this is a country where booze is ridiculously cheap, bars are always open, and so on. The problem isn't particularly about booze of course ... it's about respect from each generation for their peers and their elders (parents and grandparents) and 'sideways' towards other families. I think the problem is as much to do with older people as it is to do with the young. Kids don't really want the 'panacea' of the latest gadget or electronic gizmo ... they want respect. If they don't get it ... then they don't learn how to pass it on themselves. Neither do they learn the fundamental tenet 'What goes around comes around' which I've found is a pretty good way of carrying on in life. Yes, you'll get kicked down now and again ... but that's just misfortune and should be treated as such. I could continue with this but I'm in danger of rambling on for ever!!!!

What makes someone turn or be, bad. In your opinion...??????

Well on my visit to the local prison a vicious murderer told me about his night of passion with a Miss Rance.

Is that what sent him round the bend? Or perhaps part of his punishment?

I think people are born evil and the babies who look 'dodgy' at birth should be put in a mincer

Well that's you gone then!

Adam is that avatar of yours, Frostyboy AFTER he's realised his guitar playing sucks?

Cheap high powered booze, filled with sugars and flavorings so you don't notice the taste. That's the cause of an awful lot of evil.

It's my guitar that sucks, not my playing.

On this planet shouldn't we be asking what makes a good apple? :O

I don't think we really know so yes we should be all asking that question.

Right about now the Planet Earth is infested by humanity and the problems are getting worse. We add nothing to the resources of the planet, only take away. We are the problem. Control the problem, eliminate the problem, death, rebirth. I am coming Lord.. kill them all? Yes my Lord..

Speaking as someone who has been a 'bad apple' in the past I can say that every case is different. There are some generics of course such as bad parenting, poor education, peer pressure etc

For me my best friend died when we were teenagers and I simply failed to cope with the loss and concept of death. I lashed out at a world that I couldn't understand and didn't have the maturity to cope. Luckily I grew up.

But I come from a wonderful, loving family had an almost idyllic childhood upto that point. Truth be told I still don't really know why I did the things I did.

It is a complicated problem.

I have respect for anyone who plays guitar especially when they can rest it on their lap while nursing a constant erection. Which it is apparent that frostyboy always has.

I could do with a strudel!

Oh is he playing it?

I thought he was practising his chatting up technique.
