HOME BOYS LEOPARD AND MASHMAN DECIDE TO HAVE A LEISURELY GAME OF MONOPOLY

LEOPARD ROLLS HIS DICE

LEOPARD:
I is busted an eight dread.

HE MOVES HIS PIECE
One, two, three, four, five (BEAT), six (BEAT), seven, eight boom!

MASHMAN:
What you up to blod?

LEOPARD:
Sneakin' into 'Fleet Street'.

MASHMAN:
Sneakin' into Fleet Street - as if. That's my yard, yoot.

LEOPARD:
That's why it's so cheap. You suppose to put a hotel there, not a LIDL, you get me.

MASHMAN:
I put it there so your mum could buy some fresh clothes, innit.

LEOPARD:
At least my mum wears clothes.

MASHMAN:
You park up there, I will knock you out.

LEOPARD:
With what, your breath? You is fadin', nig. Pall Mall boyz are takin' you down.

LEOPARD PLACES HIS TOP HAT ON FLEET STREET.

MASHMAN STABS HIM TO DEATH.

Yeah, it was a really funny idea.

Did anyone take rockabilly's advice and find work?

I preferred Rob's original. For those of us that 'aint down wiv it the innit bit just emphasises how f**king stupid they sound to the rest of us. INNIT! It's comic exaggeration and I's like it. You can tell I have no f**king idea what I'm talking about by now.

I liked the original and I can see that Godot has stuck it in the back of the cab and done his own thing with it. I'm sure Godot's is funnier, but I'm not sure I understand it as well as Rob's. I guess I'm asking the question, doesn't it depend who your audience is? A street savvy audience will reject Rob's and prefer Godot's, because the language is more acutely observed. But I think a mainstream BBC or ITV audience would be lost by Godot's embellishments and would find Rob's sketch funny.

Know your audience!

Can I pass "Go" now?

Rob's sketch is very funny. I like it a lot.

Godot's Taxis version is both funny and shocking. It's the sort of thing you read and remember for a long time. Very high quality.
