Viewing Figures

Hi all,

I'm in the process of doing a market report for a uni project, and I'm looking to find viewing figures for British sitcoms over the last 50 years. If anyone knows where I could access such info I would be really appreciate it.

Regards

Duncan

Perhaps someone else can provide something, but I can't personally think of anywhere which provides info like that. Could be worth writing to the Radio Times, I suppose. They strike me as the kinds of people who would record and/or collect that kind of thing.

Hmmm...Might be the case that the info you want will be hard to get at without paying for it.

Maybe the BARB (British Audience Research Board) has something?

She's clever, that one is.

Looks bloody expensive, but always worth enquiring as to special student allowances. And if they can't help, they might know somewhere that can.

The Guardian has TV Ratings articles going back over the last few years but you do have to sift through the words to find what you're looking for http://media.guardian.co.uk/overnights/

The BARB site Aaron has linked to has a top 30 for each week you can view for free - unfortunately it's a bit painful to sift though, plus and you'll have to pick the comedies out yourself Angry

There's old reports on www.viewingfigures.com too but they charge and, from the free trial I had, the interface was nearly un-usable.

Hope this is of some help though.
