INT - SET OF ANTIQUES ROADSHOW -DAY
THERE ARE PEOPLE MILLING HITHER AND THITHER. THE CAMERA ON A CRANE ZOOMS IN TO AN EXPERT TALKING TO A MAN IN HIS FIFTIES
EXPERT:
It's a quite pleasant vase from the Victorian era. Made by a pottery somewhere in the Midlands. No maker's mark but quite a nice thing in its own way. I think that at auction you could expect to see this make about £80.
MAN:
Well here's a photo that shows a man who used to cut Queen Victoria's herbaceous borders standing next to the actual vase.
HE HANDS THE PHOTO TO THE EXPERT
EXPERT:
Oh how simply enchanting! I think that I may be having an orgasm! Well this of course puts an entirely different perspective on things. This old bit of tat is worth, at a conservative estimate, I should say about £2000. Thank you so much for bringing it in and letting a piece of scum like me handle it. But you must excuse me now as I need the gents rather urgently.
