The next final episode of Dibley

The Vicar of Dibley is returning (again) for Comic Relief.

BBC Story

Oh dear...

oh dear oh dear (you will understand that if you watch chucklevision) (not that i do, honestly)

Never heard of Chuckle-vision...To me, To you. I wonder if she'll have to build an Ark

I have a soft spot for the Vicar of Dibley but the whole "this is definitely the last episode" is getting a bit tedious now - it's the 3rd of 4th time Richard Curtis has broken that 'promise' now.

Has anything funny ever been created for Comic Relief?

Really?

Ruby Wax and Jo Brand dancing to 'We Are The Cheeky Girls'.

Actually, that was more mortally scarring and disturbing that funny as such... But IMO the Blackadder special(s) were/was (I forget which was which) really rather good.

In the states they just ran the last years tale..With the Vicar so over weight and Alice dolled up..it is just not the same..Why are women so over bearing in the British comedies..I think some men need to be the head of a show and their household. Isit true what we hear about British men here in the states..that they are cold and womn rule the homes..Hum..far cry from over here I can tell you..Valentine

Thank God I'm not alone in having less than charitable thoughts about Comic Relief. I used to think that it's only purpose was to give Lenny Henry something to do and to piss me off. And as for the Chuckle Brothers, don't even go there!

I hate Comic Relief. If the writers and performers put out the same material as that the rest of the year we wouldn't tolerate it. It's actually insulting to the charities involved that they just use some offcuts that wouldn't work in their 'proper' shows.

Want to know something worse?

Over here in Australia, there abysmal attempts at doing "Comic Relief" involved lots of clips of old British and American events and tried to label it as new.
The show was disappointingly lacklustre and they couldn't even bring themselves to show how much was raised.
*shakes head sorrowfully*

On the contrary, it couldn't have been more firmly intended. I'm not sure where you "hear" that "British men are cold and women rule the homes", but it is not true in the slightest! Next you'll be asking if we all have crooked yellow teeth, drink anything other than tea, and really are sexually repressed!

I heard that from my English grand mother after she came to the states and married for the second time..an American male..She had 7 brothers and 3 sisters and all of the women said the same..The males may be handsome but!!!!!They said their own brothers were cool men and not warm ..Sorry..over here you hear that all of the time..As for the teeth..I thought some were coffee drinkers or scrumpie drinkers..In out papers this week it said English men love to get drunk..That doesn't leave the teeth yellow does it????Valentine
