Idea for Sit-com

Someone was asking for ideas for a sit-com,would this be any good?
An inner city gang of teenagers,13 to 19, from various ethnic backgrounds and the problems they might face in Britain.
Like the ‘Bowery Boys,’ (an American sit-com in the 1940s.) who pretended to be tough, their charm being that, they were basically nice kids, their 'goodness' always over-powering their desire to be 'hard'

Me and Jude wrote (well she wrote) a sitcom episode about gangs. I was too lazy and gave up, but bloody good it was though. That's probably the only similarity between ours and your idea.

Sounds quite BBC Three-y.

'ello Jerf-when did you get back then?

When his ASBO ended. ;)

Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud

I've just been chucked off an anger management course. Seriously, I want to get on 'Youtube' and 'Blaze', what's the best camcorder for the job?

The snag is that your sitcom would be uncastable.

In recent times, British child/teen 'actors' tend to be crap.

There are exceptions but probably not enough to cast a gang.

Tenuous maybe but 'The Double Deckers' springs to mind for some reason.

Or 'The Fenn Street Gang'.

I wonder whether todays youth are too wild/angry/out of control to be made in to a comedy vehicle that would realistically portray the gang culture.
