Cartoons for Critiquing

I draw cartoons, mostly local and political editorials that I figure none of you would get. So I searched threw my website and found a few I thought you might.
I also want to note that in no way am I a comedy writer, but I thought this might be a great place to read some honest feedback as to whether any of my cartoons are funny.

Ad Populum: A cartoon I used to do with a friend. These are some of the ones I wrote on my own.
The concept: Three guys from a fantasy like medieval are transported to the present and try to integrate into modern day Canada. The characters are a Barbarian named Balthor, a tyrant named Lord Flynn and the Goblin King Bobo.

Pépère I was challenged by a fellow cartoonist to create a family friendly cartoon. I have never had a chance to continued the series but this is what I came up with. http://www.curtvdl.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/1ststrip.jpg

Thank you in advance for taking the time to check these out and I am looking forward to hearing from you, the good or bad.

Hey Curt

Your cartoons are very well drawn. It took me a couple of reads to appreciate them as I was looking at them as a piece of comedy rather than a cartoon. Once, I got over that I thought they were quite good.

I think that the alien one was my favourite.

Have you had anything published yet?

I have only had my cartoons published in University Student Papers in Canada but predominantly the University of Ottawa where I attend. Besides that I have not really had anything published.
Thank you very much for your response.

Agree with what Winterlight said. I thought that they looked very professional and my favourites were the Anteater one and the one with the kid talking to his grandad / dad.

Nice work or as you guys Stateside say "Great Job!"

I think it was very clear that the cartoons came from across the pond. The humour was of a (subtle?) brand that I would not readily 'click' with but that perhaps is to be expected to some extent (although I do love Calvin and Hobbes).

They were well-drawn too (although sometimes my eye was confused with a lot of dialogue crammed in there) and I thought in all they were very good.

Thank you for the critiques guys, I'll definitely work on my text to be sure it's more clear next time, and perhaps try to work with less dialog per box.
