Sending sketches to production companies

To date, I haven't sent any of my material off to any production companies, but I now feel ready to do so.

I've written countless sketches, however I'm not sure whether it would be best to compile the funniest ones in to a sketch show pilot script and submit that, or to simply send two or three of my best sketches.

What would you advise?

Have the sketches been worked on long enough to make them tight, lean, and mean?

Send your best sketches---bestest one ontop.

They truly don't give a f**k about unsolicited pilots from totally unknown & inexperienced writers. They really don't.

Try and put together a pilot yourself and film it/get it filmed or do what the League of Gentleman did before the days of Youtube and go out and perform it/get it performed.

give them it on a plate thats the only way to tempt them in and they look like they've discovered you and get a belly rub for doing nothing, but there we are thats the world aint it.

Searching Google, I found this advice from Babycow's Ric Michael:

Send in the sketches in the same way you would send scripts but bundle together a few and preferably give one or two themes to show you can write to order. Have a look at who is making sketch shows and if you have been working on specific programmes, get out the call sheet and send them to the producer/ director/ executive producer/ production manager and so on - it's a great way to get in.
