ComedyBlaze.tv Launches New Model for Online Comedy Paying 50% of Advertising Profits to Everyone that Uploads Videos

CB Pays Fans 10% of Profits For Adding Any Video from the CB Archive to their TV Channel – Get Paid to Watch TV!

EMBARGOED FOR February 11, 2008 - LOS ANGELES & LONDON – Comedy, Internet and Venture Capital executives announce today the launch of a new Internet television network designed for comedians, sketch artists, film makers and actors with plans to become one of the Internet’s most entertaining destinations – ComedyBlaze.tv. Anyone can sign up for free, create their own personalized TV channel, upload their videos and other content, synchronize email contacts with their online address books and email or BLAZE their videos and content around the Internet. Every time a new user signs up, ComedyBlaze.tv agrees to pay the user 50% of the advertising profit associated with the views of those videos on the user’s ComedyBlaze.tv channel.

Anytime someone watches your video on your ComedyBlaze channel you earn 50% of the advertising profit. If your content is viewed on someone else's ComedyBlaze channel you earn 40% and the channel’s creator / promoter earns 10%. ComedyBlaze users can email friends the link to their channel with a link to any specific video and share the profit with the original user and ComedyBlaze – get paid to watch TV!

ComedyBlaze complies with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, which means that if you upload your email contacts to ComedyBlaze they are safe and no one can ever email or access those folks but you. ComedyBlaze will never email your contacts – only you can. As your fans create their own TV channels they can add your next video to their TV channel so you will not need to email them, creating an intelligent television experience rather than watching tired old re-runs on your TV set. ComedyBlaze developers are creating a new platform of television that learns what you like to watch and what you don’t. You will be able to link to what your friends are watching from start to finish and not watch the videos that people fast forward or don’t watch through to the end.

ComedyBlaze.tv is also offering The CB Grand - a monthly prize of $1,000 to whomever gets the most total views for their original uploaded videos on their ComedyBlaze TV channel each month. For its launch ComedyBlaze.tv signed up over 300 comedians, sketch artists and film makers who have uploaded tons of fresh original content. Check out hundreds of clips of stand up comedians at www.ComedyBlaze.tv/standup, tons of webisodes and bitcom sketch videos at www.ComedyBlaze.tv/bitcom and scores of short films some of which are over one hour in length www.ComedyBlaze.tv/indiefilm.

Founder & Chairman Andrew Romans states, “ComedyBlaze.tv was created to help new and established talent rapidly disseminate their content in a new, exciting and profitable manner.” Romans continues, “We designed everything to be simple enough for a 6 year old to use, yet powerful enough for ComedyBlaze users to personalize their own TV channels, manage address books with millions of users that fans can join with a click and sell downloads, merchandise and tickets to performances and screenings. Our website currently allows users to upload unlimited videos as big as 200 MB each - large enough to accommodate the independent film makers.” Romans concludes, “We believe this space is in its infancy. We invite artists to tell us what they want the site to do and we will have our developers make it work for them.”

New York City comic Stephen Strauss comments, “On the treasure map of Internet television I place an X on ComedyBlaze.tv”

Have a look around the site. Although it's global, they're keen to keep a strong UK and Irish presence. It looks like a platform for the talent here.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Let's see if this monkey pays out.

saw your 'draw' and 'bad news' sketches there Slag. Liked them both
:D

Wow! Havent had a chance to get on there yet but it sounds great. Will definately be checking it out. Thanks for the info Slaggs ;) ;)

Cheers Nigel. :D

Yep, Otterfox. I'd put it up on 4Laughs but the admin would take it down. Do you wanna pass this on to the 4Laughs regulars in some kinda oblique code that'll give them the gist?

Micheal welcome to the 'OTHER' board.

Thanks so much for sharing this SlagA.
Almost everything on there seems to be American though - like for instance all the Editor's choices (hmmm!).
I watched your police skit and tried to rate it 5 but I need to be logged in apparently (sorry I did try :))
Which one was you by the way, the copper or the man-at-door? I saw this sketch ages ago and wondered the same thing.

I'm the gimp in a gasmask, but even that isn't me, we have a mate who stands in. I rarely appear in the sketches, I rarely appear in real life, come to that. :)

Thanks for trying to vote though, appreciated.

No shit? All the while I've been thinking I was talking to the dude in the dreadlocks!

While David's having a Kaiser Soze moment I'd like to point out that I always knew I was talking to the gas mask dude :D Although the news of a slagA body double has thrown me!!!

Re: comedy blaze. Cheers for the link. I like the way it's going with sites sharing revenue. Hopefully it'll get to the point where they might start paying cash upfront for exclusive content.

Laughing out loud
Sometimes not even SlagB knows who he's talking to. Hopefully we're constructing a brand and image, distinct from the real us. That's the intention. We're yet to see if it's constructive or destructive to our intended careers.

Otterfox, the water's lovely and warm in this forum. Come on in. :)

Didn't a comedy blaze destroy the comedy market in Camden?
