I played an Ewok in Return of the Jedi...oh no wait that was not me, but I did play the "Short Round" in Indiana Jones...oh no wait I'm not Vietnamese...hmmm...I suppose I'm not an actor.
Would you like to act? Page 3
I've had one 'proper go' at acting in a video. I played a Yorkshire flat-cap, pipe and slippers dad with a teenage ninja for a son. It was great fun - loved every minute of it but very hard not to corpse all the time as the young guy who played the ninja was hilarious and kept glaring at me menacingly through his mask!

That's the reason I gave up acting, I couldn't control my corpsing. I only ever did comedy and during the rehearsals, sometimes I'd literally be rolling on the floor in fits of laughter. In one play (theatre) I had to look at the other actors foreheads rather than in their eyes or it would set me off again on stage
Haha that's funny. I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from laughing either if some kid was glaring at me threw a ninja mask. funny story, it would a good story for Extras.
Quote: David Chapman @ February 9, 2008, 6:07 PMActually the group I'm working with are looking for some actors for our New Writing Night on 31 May.
We're starting rehearsals and need the following -
Boy - spoiled brat who looks 16 (No - it's not for my own interest)
2 blokes about 26-30
An old bloke - about 60 - who's a paedophile
Woman - about 25 - tall.No - honestly we are looking for these.
Anyone interested? We're in Carshalton, Surrey - between Croydon and Sutton.
An old 60-year-old chap who looks like a paedophile... and Chapman, you haven't snapped it up?!
I can't believe that one slipped through your net, Charley.
When I first joined this forum, I recounted how I used to love the weekly drama competition that my class used to have every Friday afternoon, when I was in my last year of Primary school. I remember the first week we did it, I was totally against taking part, as I thought it would be embarrassing. Then, by the second week, I was 100% into it. I can honestly say, those Friday afternoons stand out as the number one highlight of my school days. Unfortunately, I haven't done any kind of acting since.

Nothing slips through her net. That's what we call it anyway.
Well the paedo part has gone - not because someone's snapped it up but because we axed the play due to lack of interest. We'll put it in next time though.
We're still looking for 2 young boys though!!!!!!
I've got mixed feelings about this. When I was younger I did really want to act but now the idea of being in a roomful of people and a camera kind of scares me to death. Amazing how much confidence you lose as you get older. In an ideal world I'd like to do what Graham Linehan does in his comedies - the odd cameo.
I would only ever act if it was an emergency.
I don't think I have the right voice mostly. I did post up a clip of me acting out one of my sketches on my mobile phone. I was left quite embarrased by it.

Why? Was it a brick?

Was it a 999 call?
Whoosh!!!
Oh yeah I didn't make that very clear did I!
I meant I filmed myself using my mobile phone!!!
Sorry - you mean WITH the phone?

What, like if some really ugly bastard needed mouth to mouth. Would you act like you had not seen him/her?
OR
If it was a really boooootiful lady with huge tits. Would you act like a doctor?
