If it is it would be on the writers room i would have thought, which i must say is looking pretty natty of late.

He's right... on both counts... http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/opportunity/comedy_college.shtml

Ah there it is. Cheers!

has anyone applied for this yet? i reckon the first six who apply will get it. i've applied under six different aliases. or is it aliai? yes! it will be just me and my five imaginary friends in a bath with mitchell and webb.

I aim to wait outside on the BBC on the day the contest winners turn up. Then murder them all, and turn up as the funniest 6 people in UK comedy.

This is all part of my ongoing campaign to get close enough to Ken Dodd, to do him in.

Do you find out who you've been paired with, before you have to accept?...
:)

I'll obviously do matchmaking rather than allocating.

Will that be speed matchmaking?

In that case, please set me up with Julian Barratt.

Oh, I see what you mean.

I won't be applying just yet, as I have no credentials. But I am seething with jealousy already, over whoever gets matched with Armando Ianucci.

is this a situation where the bbc have already chosen the six people (or have an idea who they will choose)? or is it genuinely open to anyone applying with the appropriate credentials?

Well, my application's away - anyone else?

Not yet, no point in rushing I don't think. Just trying to figure out what to send. My instinct is to write something fresh and new that nobody's read yet. Having said that, my instinct today was to confess to the wife about an expensive mp3 player I've just bought, and she went f**king mad.

So much for instinct. Huh?

I'm going to hold off for the moment too.

I've got 6 finished sketches to send, but no doubt I'll write something better than one of them in the time left.

I also need to start work on a CV.

It's genuinely open, otherwise what would be the point?

Do you want a sweeperuperer Micheal? I'm good with a brush

or a tealady

Should we send something more mainstream and half-past eight on a Friday night-ish, or should we send something odder and more surreal which stands out more?
