Talking of socks...I was once watching a football match with my mother and she showed exactly why (most) women know nothing about football. I was enjoying the game and she piped up "aren't the Arsenal goalkeepers socks funny?" I mumbled in agreement and carried on watching only for 5mins later her to comment on them again, "look, they're really stripey".

There are gonna be repercussions here!! 
I did say most women! Not all! Some women know more about football than blokes because they don't just look through rose-tinted glasses..."ooh, this fella should play for England cus he plays for my club"..I myself fall into this category often!
Maybe its just my mum anyway, but fashion should not be a part of football!

Seriously though, reminds me once I was watching the snooker at my ex's, I thought her sister was watching the game with me until she said 'isn't that pink really pretty' and walked off!

Becks doesn't play for England anymore 
Becks problem is he stopped playing football and played 'image marketing machine' instead. Consequently now he needs football it's told him to go away. I loved him but when the monster outgrows its creator it'll always end in tears.
England did alright, btw. It could have gone much worse for a first time outing against a reasonable team.
